Player #53553731, Sorry to tell you but slavery still exist in some countries. Very sad history, slavery.
Pennyenn
It's sad that in 2023 people still feel stuck in that box only difference being there is no delivery date to dictate how long you'll be in that box.
Player Say what!?
What a remarkable and disturbing story! How fiercely horrendous it must have been to go through such torture for freedom.
Fifi Sam
Rosie-knees, The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was one of the most cruel and inhuman treatments of Blacks in the history of mankind. The saddest thing about it that the Church profited from it. Shameful!

I commend him...

Player Jellybean, I wish I could say that this country has learned its lesson about slavery but sadly I can not, it’s just a different form of it. A slavery of poverty and indifference and just the thinking of people feeling they are better and deserve more than the next person because of the social standing and the color of their skin.😕😕

I am ashamed to be a human being, how can someone have to resort to those type of actions just to be with his family. It's truly barbaric. Slavery was and still is practised across the world. God bless Mr box brown.
GrandmaSki
Heather88, The year of his escape, Brown was contacted by his wife's new owner, who offered to sell his family to him. Brown declined the offer.[10] This was an embarrassment within the abolitionist community, which tried to keep the information private.[6]

Player #33292972, There are many successful and rich black people in this country. What are they personally doing to better the black community?
Player #120374466
wow, incredible story. Amazing delivery service within 24 hours! Something he could bank his life on. Can't do that today. Hope Henry was able to connect with his family. Horrible what a person can do to another if they can get away with it!

Player #42806055, Apparently he didn’t want his wife once he achieved his freedom. He had an option to buy their freedom and choose not to.

Yaz, by choice, it seems. I'm struggling to find much info but it seems at least one reference work claims that his first family's new owner offered to sell him hiss family back BUT HE DECLINED.
Another reference work claims he just never tried to get them back. Sad.
