Clidge, Yes, it is real, and is in Tintagel in Cornwall (U.K.). However the locals get angry if people say it is Arthur. They say is represents " Kingship". That is because they hate the way the " Arthur industry" dominated their town. I admit that when you see directions to "King Arthu's Car Park" you tend to agree!.
