Who had a 1984 hit with "99 Red Balloons"?

"Neunundneunzig Luft Balloon." I'm learning the German version right now. I can sing in French, Spanish, Italian (Pavarotti!), Japanese, and Hebrew. Adding a German song seems a logical next step. Learning new things keeps the brain young, builds new connections, and makes for happy neurons.

Kris, Yes but, when radio was king, these popular songs would get played several times a day. They got tedious. So much so that, I am sure you remember, stations started to say 'we only play a song once a day'. But it produces great nostalgia in me too.

I started listening to KROQ back in 1979, as a senior in high school. I believe that was their first year of existence.

I love this song !! it is electrifying, exciting and it brings out strangely patriotic feelings, it seems very war like even though it's not pro - war at all.
