I went to a school when I was growing where they actually had all the students learn these events and compete. Definitely promoted health. Now we have kids competing on their smartphones to see who can hold one the longest!

The clue's in the name. In fact September was originally the 7th, October the 8th November the 9th and December the 10th months respectively. That is until January and July (I think) came along and moved everything to where it is now
