I met my Norwegian girlfriend playing broomball one night at a skating rink in Palos Verdes, CA. I never knew it was an actual sport, I just thought it was a game created for people to have fun on the ice. I wore knee pads so I could cover ground sliding on my knees rather than trying to maneuver on ice in tennis shoes.
