I'd actually forgotten the original and immediately thought of Elvis's stirring anthem, American Trilogy" it juxtaposes "Dixie" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" along with a bit of the lullaby, rendered as:
"So hush little baby
Don’t you cry
You know your daddy’s bound to die
But all my trials, Lord, will soon be over"
It's almost a metaphor for our current time in America. Even if you're not an Elvis fan, it's worth looking it up on YouTube for a listen - powerful song.
