The original reality TV. It was one of the things my folks & I enjoyed watching together. The arena was right down the street & the cast stayed at a nearby motel. Hearing about two blood "enemies" yukking it up in the coffee shop was my 1st clue it might all be a show - even though the talent really do have great athletic ability.

J, We got Mexican wrestling too, really theatrical with the masked characters.

Darth Ra, I'm old enough to remember Gorgeous George. From the 60s, there was Jose Lothario, the Von Erichs, and Bearcat Wright, who, along with Ernie Ladd were the 1st Black wrestlers I remember. Kenji Shibuya was a villain ("heel"). I'd about lost interest by the time Hulk came along.

Far too many great wrestlers to have a top 10. If I were to try: 1) Austin 2) Nature Boy 3) The Rock 4) Macho Man 5) HBK 6) Sting 7) Undertaker 8) Hogan 9) The Game 10) Rey Mysterio As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan of the attitude era. I wonder what other’s top 10 look like…

Nix, That’s exactly right the contention is or was that world wildlife was patented before world wrestling so a change had to come. ! ! !

Multi billion dollar industry which is a mainstay across the world as a kid I used to watch British wrestling but found the American stuff contained too much theatrics although Hulk Hogan was excellent in Rocky 3 and the Rock along with John Cena have made some great films. Long Live Big Daddy and Giant Haystack!
