They are NOT edible, they are a birds home and vital for laying eggs and raising their chicks. Humans are destroying nature just because they believe these nests are a delicacy. It is utterly disgusting. What will they decide to eat next, when there's no birds nests left???

I presume they only take the nests when birds have finished nesting? Do they build new nests every year, and did and old nests? There's a lot of missing information here. If they don't discard their old nests this disgusting practice should end.

Portia, They don’t take the nest when there are chicks there…..they only take it after the chicks are hatched and the birds abandoned their nests
