I’ve never drunk a Guinness. Bet most of this site’s readers haven’t either. But to settle a bet, the owner of the brewery came up with the idea of World Record holders. Yep, now we ALL have been exposed to that bit of culture because of him. It was simply, appropriately enough, to settle a bar bet. I have the very first book, a slim green hard-cover with shiny pages that have not aged at all, which came out in 1955. Wonder what it’s worth now. A first edition!
