According to a myth, who has more nightmares?
Correct answer: Children
BlueEyedAlien
“According to a myth”? What kind of authority for a question is that?
Bonnie
I don’t necessarily think children is the total answer. We all dream & have nightmares. It’s just that children wake up more from them & retain the memories. You can train yourself to remember yours.
Amber
I have psychic dreams. They're terrifying. Having sight into the future is awful. Not just mentally, but physically, it's exhausting and draining. I have some form of PTSD disorder from these visions I've had since childhood. Doctors write it off as psychosis and narcolepsy, but I've always felt I enter another world while experiencing what is called a sleep attack. I experience an extreme body temperature drop, loss of motor skills, lack of awareness and other bizarre sensations before having a vision. Sometimes the visions occur in a state of sleep paralysis, which are even worse. The topic of dreaming is so vast and intangible I doubt we as humans will ever grasp it.

Molly - I so sorry about your nightly nightmares. They're horrible things! I have them sometimes. Awful!

I frequently remember both dreams and nightmares I had as a child and still do as an adult. Depending on who you listen to or read there are different interpretations of them and their meanings, some say they are visions or glimpses of what could be others will say it’s their subconscious. I was told never to eat cheese before going to bed because I would have nightmares…myth or reality without eating a block of mature cheddar or Stilton I guess I’ll never know!!

Amber, I have the same problem. was diagnosed with night terrors, a result of early childhood trauma. can be hard to deal with, for sure, even as you get older.

All of us have strange dreams and some dreams comes true.I do know the dreams are from our brain that never sleep. While we sleep our bodies have to have rest.

I dream every single night. Wake up, go back to sleep and the dream continues. Even when I take a short nap. And I remember my dreams. Sometimes I am not sure if something really happened or if just dreamed it. I have no idea how to stop this!

Amber, check out hypnopompic/hypnogognic hallucinations. explains some of your experiences.? esp the sleep paralysis.
PhoenixGriffin911
I think dreams and nightmares are at all ages, it just depends on the person if they retain any memories of them. I've been working to NOT remember my nightmares. Maybe someday I will sleep for more than a couple hours. I empathize with all who are having nightmares, night terrors, psychic visions, and more. It's exhausting 😪
Player #25971981
Do dreams subside as you age?? I used to have many vivid dreams in my younger years but now, in my sixties I don’t have any.
Goblin
Wtev. I had one just last night & then a few more & I'm 45. I think as adults we have more things to worry about that we have to process/work out in our dreams.
So my theory is that adults have them more, but we just can handle them better & tend not to talk about them.
Nancy
Amber, how frightening this must be.
