What a fascinating story! I bet they were more reliable than our Postal system today! Anddd a lot less expensive!

Player #5817850, I agree and I don't work for them, nor do I know anyone who does. But if you look, really look at what it takes to mail a letter across even just one state, it's an amazing process and actually inexpensive. Some people rag on them only because they think they're supposed to.

Player Say what!?, I completely agree!! It is truly fascinating. To be honest, I still wish people took the time to send more personal letters like they did in the past before email came about. To me, an email does not express the emotional side of a handwritten letter.

When I was young, the prevailing attitude among parents seemed to be, "What doesn't kill the kid will make him stronger." My parents' motto was, "It'll hurt, but she'll only do it once."

Angie, yes, I did work for them for about 2 years but couldn’t get a regular route so moved on . . . It is the most physically challenging job I’ve had (I’ve also worked in the airlines on the ramp sometimes and that THAT was easy compared with the Postal Service!!!) God Bless the Mail Carrier’s!

Wannabe Vulcan, What awful parents to mail their baby. In 1913, an 8-month-old baby in Ohio was mailed by his parents to his grandmother who lived a few miles away. Grandma, can you babysit? Just a few weeks after Parcel Post began, Jesse and Mathilda Beagle “mailed” their 8-month-old son James to his grandmother, who lived a few miles away near Batavia, Ohio.

Not true. only one such delivery ever recorded and it was done as a publicity stunt.

I think it's a great idea for poor relatives who want to be able send their child to another relative !! It sure doesn't sound like anyone got hurt, weird, maybe but it seemed safe enough. 😊😊😀😀

Jonesy, many times in this game the wrong answers are just an afterthought. "a dead head" "a gold bullion" are not typical phraseology. "a kiss" could be imaginary, could be lipstick on a piece of paper, or Hershey's kiss.
