What is the Italian pasta dish made with eggs, bacon and cheese?

My favorite dinner was spaghetti growing up but when my grandma made this dish I called it grandmas spaghetti. It was just a few years ago I learned it was actually Carbonara.

I cook this, but I cheat! Penne pasta, a decent Brit cheddar, some Edam or similar. Cook pasta, cook meat or hard boiled eggs! Mix with cheese, microwave for 2 mins. Add butter or olive oil, black pepper, salt if you must.

WE JUST HAD THIS DISH LAST NIGHT YUMMY!My daughter makes it very well.

i don't put eggs in this dish. I just throw chopped ham and bacon in the pan, then I poor fat cream in it, and make it thick with cheese. salt pepper and of course.... nutmeg! boil penne or spaghetti pasta and done. served with a mountain of cheese on top! it's the easy way... probably making Italians cringe. oopsie. but everybody say it's tasty , so I'm fine. doing this since I live on my own at 16. couldn't be bothered making the roux lol
