What is the Italian pasta dish made with eggs, bacon and cheese?

My favorite dinner was spaghetti growing up but when my grandma made this dish I called it grandmas spaghetti. It was just a few years ago I learned it was actually Carbonara.

I cook this, but I cheat! Penne pasta, a decent Brit cheddar, some Edam or similar. Cook pasta, cook meat or hard boiled eggs! Mix with cheese, microwave for 2 mins. Add butter or olive oil, black pepper, salt if you must.
