Tasteless and rubbery. Fairly useless in Western cooking, imo. It's probably better in other cuisines. For me, local farmers cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta, or quark are all tastier and infinitelty more flexible in cooking.

Peneer comes from Persia, so it's originally from Iran and was introduced in India by Iranians
