Siddharth was crown prince of the Royal Family from Lumbini. Lumbini was its own kingdom on the foothills of the Himalayan doorstep as far as Nepali people know. Most human life spun around those people who had most knowledge and practice of Hinduism and Sanskrit. Meditation was the hot topic. Crown Prince lived most of his life around the palace and was provided time of nothing but great and kind childhood, however limited human experience. When he got outside the circle, he was devastated. His mother and father's dedication to raise him as a good person carried him over to pursue the discomfort in him. He was a giver. This is the story I've come to know. Not sure how much exaggeration and truth it holds, but this is what I heard. We had to read a book about how Buddha came to be The Buddha. He basically gets star-struck seeing sick, dead, and beggars.

BCE is a recent, made up term, for those who want to minimize, the Christ, where as traditional, time tested material used B.C, meaning before Christ, not BCE which, means, before current era, which should be translated, "before current error"!
