Our flag is a history lesson! It shows where we started (13 original colonies) and where we are now (50 states).

In the 50s and 60s films set earlier had to use "wrong" US flags as they had to use the current 50 star flag rather than the 48 star flag used earlier in the century (especially in WW2) before Alaska and Hawaii became states.
