What was the main idea of the miasma theory?

It is a natural thought. if you smell something "off" it feels unhealthy.

It probably made sense then,before the microscope. The advantage probably was that people would cover their faces, an early version of our medical masks

So strange. I never thought of this before. Back then I can see it making sense, not now.

Sometimes odor can cause sickness like that of the smoke in Cigarette but germs and bacteria really is the cause

Why would we all say then. Even today it’s still true. Bad management of our waste produces bad emissions which carry the bacteria germ or whatsoever but modern day technology gives us the finding of the different appellations. Please let us learn to manage waste and keep our environment clean. Cleanliness they say is nearness to God or holiness. I heard this while I was as old as 5yrs in Sunday school and now I am older at 60. Miasma I think is the name of someone not the disease.

Miasma is a nice word. I wonder what theories people had at the time when they were alive. Did they all believe this? Did they care for the explanation or more for the destruction?
