What sort of murderous creature is a 'black widow'?

My cousin used to ask me what spider would I be scared of if it came around the most. I said a tarantula and she always said a black widow ha!

Please don’t call an insect “murderous” and correct your unit conversion from inch to cm. 1/2 inch is 12.7 mm or 1.27 cm.

They are not “murderous”. They bite to defend themselves against what they perceive to be a threat. Labelling an animal as a bloodthirsty monster is only going to worsen people’s opinions on an already hated creature.

I picked up a cantaloupe in a grocery store once, and there was a black widow on the other side of it.

1.27cm not 12.7cm that would be a big spider
