Someone described as a 'polyglot' is able to do what?

I always admire those polyglots. I am just fluent in Chinese, English and French. I can still speak some Japanese but I totally forgot Russian. My daughter can speak French, English, Chinese and Spanish fluently. She is learning Dutch now.

In the U.K. if you can speak the Yorkshire dialect you are a Parkinglot! (Joke - Yorkshire Parkin is a treacle cake)

Well, it's easy to learn many languages when we start very young. I don't know why some parents don't teach children to speak and write their ancestors language. It's even more disturbing when you are not able to speak with your own grandparents when you visit them.

Good grief. Whatever happened to the term multilingual? Work with dozens of them. Speak parts of three languages myself but not fluently as they do.
