Let’s hope that the country will stop using social security as a bank when they fail to use the government money the right way. Citizens paid for it… it’s their money .. not the government’s.. and then there is a tax on top of it. It’s the peoples money not the president’s bank to use…

Tina M., Not totally true. My husband died young leaving me with babies to care for. SS helped me pay the bills as well as return to school for an education. this helped me support my children, send them to college, and pay taxes. yes, not everyone is as lucky.

swampyacres1, yes, but there are also those who die leaving so much of their social security untouched. Beneficiaries get just a few dollars of that.
