What is the name for a female peacock?

I often see them while working in Palos Verdes Estates in California. Like many species of animals, the males are the ones that are more colorful.

I raised pen hens & peacocks for many years . They would eat out of my hand gently

years ago I raised peafowl I loved them

I might consider the Peacock 🦚 as one of my favourite birds maybe in the future and I like to see peafowl in India 🇮🇳.

There are several species of animals where the father does not stick around to help raise their offspring. Many times the mother leaves the father to avoid the father killing the make offspring. Competition for dominance when they grow up.

Peafowl are polygamus but after mating the male peafowl dont care in raising their peachicks
