I have helped care for my parents, a grandparent, and close friends who were all on palliative care, due to terminal cancer; only one was in an assisted living facility. While I'm sure every state, country, etc... has their own rules and regulations regarding this particular care, loved ones living in Mississippi on Hospice and who are at home with responsible and loving caregivers receive the best palliative care and treatment.

In the US at the VA, my deceased husband did see a palliative team, but it was unfortunately, infrequent and just for clinic appointments, except very late toward the end. Not a good use of it.
