I recall the terrible day when the Learjet of golfer Payne Stewart lost pressurization early on during a flight from Florida to Houston. The plane flew, apparently on autopilot, for 1400 miles across America with everyone on board dead from hypoxia. The fighter jets sent to investigate reported that the windows had ice on the inside. The jets escorted the ghost plane until it crashed in a field in South Dakota. It was very, very sad. Payne Stewart was well known for his eccentric, and very loud, wardrobe. He was a really nice guy. I knew him from Pro-Am golf tournaments.
