J,
I was thinking of Raj while reading the answer. I believe he had a phobia of speaking to ANY woman!?!

I have a Master's degree in Psychology, and can confidently state that there is no such thing as an "inherited" phobia.
Timid personalities can be inherited, and we all have innate cautious responses to things like spiders, snakes, storms, and the dark, but there is no such thing as a genetic-based fear of women, let alone beautiful ones.

Laroo, Not a specific phobia, but being more susceptible to anxiety/fear in general, perhaps what you're describing as a timid personality. I'd think that would predispose one to develop various phobias associated with a stressful or traumatic experience. Inheriting the genetic "fear factor" combined with parents expressing their phobias around their kids might give the impression of inheritance. Just my guess.
see: "Is our tendency to experience fear and anxiety genetic?" in Scientific American. I don't think we can post links here.
