Gilbert Hill was formed as part of the Deccan Traps. This volcanic eruption effected an area half the size of modern India and had quite an impact on Earth's climate.

Why would a geographical feature in India be called ‘Gilbert Hill’? There should be some information here about who the hill is named after.

no, A close inspection of the high-rises and the homes beyond them reveals to me a slum-like appearance.  Perhaps decent accommodation could be provided to these people together with an aesthetic, complete restoration of the hill and the surrounding area.
