Correct answer: 15

Tina M., I'm not Latino but 15 is still the age of a child not a woman

Tina M.
I think if the family can afford a celebration of this magnitude, it's fine. Otherwise, I think that a small celebration or affordable trip makes more sense. Quinceneras are as expensive as weddings. Since the family will possibly be paying for a wedding in a few years, it would be wiser to save money for that celebration instead.

Tina M., I agree, my granddaughter was a dama for a close school friend. It was as elaborate as a wedding for sure. And it was quite beautiful.

I'm English and embarrassed to say I've never heard of this, I shall spend some time researching it, it's good to learn new things!

Thanks to Wizards Of Waverly Place. I remember when the daughter was old enough to have hers.

Player #112757483, It signifies a young girl coming of age and starting her journey into womanhood. AKA puberty. It is nothing wrong, yes they are still a child but it's a celebration of things to come.

I have a feeling these customs may originate further back in history before the Spanish/Catholic conquest in Central and South America
