I have my birthday on Boxing Day. It's a bad day to celebrate a birthday because everyone is so bloody tired from Christmas the day before. When I was young, my mother could sometimes summon up the energy to bake me a birthday cake. Other years, she would just put a few candles in a slab of fruitcake and call it done. My husband wants to switch my birthday to the end of June so he can stretch out at the lake cabin.
