When was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame created?
Correct answer: 1983

FaithfulReader
Holy Cow...can you believe they actually listed 1897 as a possible answer?!

Steinersus
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must see in Cleveland, Ohio; where the name Rock and Roll was coined. It’s full of history and offers great rotating events. I believe it’s shape was designed by architect I.M. Pei who also designed the newer section of The Louve in Paris, France.

A very beautiful glass building designed in shape of a pyramid. Found it very interesting. John Lennon Exhibit was there when we visited.

I grew up in Cleveland. It's a very unique place. Only one who has lived there will understand. One of the closest knit cities in the world.

QUIZ-WHIZ
1897...LOL

Raqlobster
it's too bad that they are letting other genres into the rock and roll hall of fame

...put another dime in the jukebox baby!

I've lived in N. E. Ohio since 1995,I have yet to go to the hall, Partly because of other Genre's allowed, only blues should be other genres allowed since so many rockers were inspired by it

Beatlefan
Player #2302284, I saw the Lennon exhibit when I was there, too..vey emotional..

K.C
a better Question would be why in Cleveland? because a Cleveland Disc Jockey coined the phrase "Rock and Roll" look it up.

FaithfulReader, Hehe

Lydia
Hairslinger, I started high school that year😃😅

Ewa
Raqlobster, No no no. It for Rock & Roll not garbage music.

Halloween Queen
I've been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At the time, they had a huge Pink Floyd The Wall display with its creatures hanging from the ceiling. I also got to go on Johnny Cash's tour bus that was out front. If you're driving through Cleavland OH, leave several hours free because this is a MUST stop!

jay
where is the group RUSH.

Player #2366411, totally agree. I also grew up in Cleveland Heights and the Lake Erie shore line is beautifl now. maybe now that NewYork is so dangerous they will bri ng inductions where they belong.

Raqlobster
FaithfulReader, yeah it's hilarious that they did

Player #2366411
RedRobedRaistlin, I believe they still hold the ceremonies in NY. It's just wrong!

Right year for me wrong for the game

Guillermo Jr.
Redeemed 2001, my favorite attraction in Cleveland is the house where they filmed the exterior scenes of "A Christmas Story"

TJ SISTER
This would be on my bucket list.

no iron maiden, no slayer. rock n roll hall of sellouts more like it. I bet they have a whole wing dedicated to metallica.

RedRobedRaistlin
Player #1163548, because the media people in NYC and LA believe if they dont have it then it isn't important. For years after the HOF was in Cleveland they were STILL holding the ceremony in NYC.

RedRobedRaistlin
I live in Ohio and have never been. And won't go until the recognize ALL music. Heavy Metal and New Wave have been notoriously snubbed. Including Devo, Kraftwerk, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, and Joy Division...
just to name a few

Halloween Queen
I've been there when they had Pink Floyd The Wall exhibit displayed and Johnny Cash's tour bus that you could walk through. It's mind blowing!

Lolita413
way too many excellent rock bands were never nominated. Devo was a consideration. They only had one song, and it was not rock.

Lolita413
Player #12768597, that's correct. I just looked it up. I intend to let the administration know this.

Player #15356356
FaithfulReader, I know. Rock and Roll didn't come out intil the 1950's.
