What is the original name of The Who band?
Correct answer: The Detours

Player #560665, yes, they were also the High Numbers

They wrre my first concert, fantastic band, far more complex in their musical arrangements than their contemporaries. I take issue with this question, as no one knows the Who's first name, by the band's own reckoning. I must question whether the Detours wrre really the Who, or just a couple members. They did that with the Beatles, using a band that only featured John ad an early name for TBE Beatles. Given the situation withvtbe Who, it makes more sense to answer the High Numbers. It was the first name under which they recorded, and even then they "had no name," according to Townsend. They quickly came up with the HNs, released a couple rapidly-selling singles, then changed their name to the Who and scored their first hit with the next single, "I Can't Explain" (with guitar solo by a young Jimmy Page).
