I've only owned Datsun/ Nissan cars. A Datsun B210, 2 Sentras, and a 280Z. Plus, they all lasted at least 10 years. Great little cars.

Player Elf Counsel, To be fair, I owned a Ford from 1979 and that was a rust bucket too. All makes of cars are far more resilient to corrosion these days.

A friend of mine had one of the very few 240Z with an automatic transmission. She had mobility issues so the automatic was necessary.

Player #7106191, For sure, automotive paint in the 80's & 90's wasn't the best. Paint formulations and painting techniques were changing to be less environmentally-damaging and automakers were automating painting along assembly lines, often with mixed results. I remember several auto brands with recalls for peeling and fading paint, Chrysler among them. Quality is generally much better today, especially after 'clearcoat' finishes came along.

I've owned a 72 Datsun pickup, 77 Datsun 280Z, 81 Datsun pickup 4X4, 86 Nissan pickup, and a 02 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4. Still have the Pathfinder 230k and still going. All were great vehicles.
