Player #25874027,
I had a kidney transplant and am frequently asked if I had any kidneys removed. It generally isn’t done, as it is a much bigger operation

Yani
jessicaababee, Liver transplants only available if the patient cannot continue to live if it is not transplanted.

On time, My late husband had one half his liver was removed as the result of persistent infections caused by a surgeon cutting the artery to his liver during a gall bladder operation. I don't think it grows back if the entire half liver is essentially dead, then removed. He lived for over two decades, but never really was healthy from then on, eventually considered permanent handicapped.

BrainTek
nephro - kidney, neuro - nervous system (nerve - brain, spine, nerves),

jessicaababee, no, you can remove PART of a liver and liver will grow back. removing g ALL of the liver needs a healthy replacement.
