What number comes next in this sequence: 3, 6, 10, 20, 24

sequence it double it and add 4. 2x3=6 6+4=10 2x10=20 20+4=24 2x24=48 48+4=52

I got it right but the wrong way. Starting with 3 and 6 I multiplied 3 by 2 then added 4 for 10, multiplied 10 by 2 then added 4 for 24. 24 times 2 is 48. Oh well. It worked lol

Explains why I always hated math! AND what is the reason for this??? At my high school in 1960s I was forced to take Algebra as a Sophmore because I did well in Math as a Freshman! I have never used it!!

Newt, You don't, the pattern is just identifying the mathematical operation used which is multiply by 2. I you want to string all if the equations togethet just add 4 to the product of the preceding equation and that becomes the multiplier of the next equati

Rand Al'Thor, If you followed your own logic you should have multiplied 24 times 2 for 48 and then added 4 for 52. Which isn't one of the choices.

COULD be 40 or 48 come on be more precise in your questions
