Does anyone else LOVE those cryptogram word puzzles... where they substitute different letters to encrypt a phrase or quote?
(That's why I knew this answer... you never start with the e's, but after you find them you can usually solve the puzzle)

Folks have written novels using only words which do not contain the letter "e". After awhile, the prose seems rather stilted.

yes I knew it was E as I do a lot of codeword puzzles, the first letter I always look for is e by counting how many of each number occurs in the grid, E usually appears around the 15 to 20 times, and in fact I think the developers are wrong about R qs S always appears more frequently than R, but I agree with A

MadMarcus1812, I agree. I also enjoy these puzzles and, as I said in my comment, I believe both S & T are more common than R. In the puzzles A is often the second most common, but I'm not so sure that it is in most written English, but it's definitely the second most common vowel.
