Which famous British landmark is this?
Correct answer: Tower Bridge
LaContessa
RealNice27, Not necessarily. Anyone who's visited London as a tourist should know this as it's one of the city's most famous landmarks.
ParkSaeroyi84
RealNice27, Not for those who have visited London or have trivia knowledge about this, which is the point of this game. Also this a pretty easy question, since it's a famous landmark, just a little bit tricky because a lot people somehow wrongly associate it with the song "London Bridge is Falling Down".

It was driving onto Tower Bridge on a double-decker bus that made me realize I was really in London, a childhood dream.

LaContessa,
That's for sure but it's so well-known landmark even those know who have never been there.

Easy for us brits. cruel to international people
Laura
Looked like a bridge with towers, so I figured ... Wrong logic but right answer. Also, I knew it wasn't London Bridge or London Eye, which are in fact internationally famous.

The London Bridge is in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It was purchased from the City of London by Robert McCulloch in 1968 for $2.5 million. It was shipped over brick by brick and reconstructed. The original London Bridge was actually falling down.

Tower Bridge does not have a drawbridge but river traffic/boats get priority over road traffic. It operates seesaw action. However, it is confused with London Bridge. I love the Albert Bridge too.
Republic of China
LaContessa,

RealNice27,
One of the world’s most iconic structures.
But many believe it to be London Bridge, especially as it is not normally pictured with the Tower in the background

Player. Ty, as the article states, bascule. Iirc drawbridges are pulled up by ropes/cables, bascules are raised by counterweights.

Americans are the most insular people in the developed world. Many in the "heartland" and the Bible Belt have never travelled outside of their country. They do not have passports and little inclination to apply for same. Every famous world historical monument or site can be found in "the greatest country in the world."
Also, the Good Lord above only blesses the United States of America. A cult of patriotism is the ethos and religion of the country. An American in Paris will seek out a McDonald restaurant and order Le Big Mac and will be cosmopolitan enough to have French Fries. 'Merican food from the good ole U S of A. Yeehah.
If they are unable to recognize Tower Bridge which is as English as Big Ben, Whitehall and Pie and Mash, then my heart truly bleeds.
