i will be that age this year. i was taught about talented musicians very young, and the Beatles the were epitome of that. we lost him too soon. we don't need to treat guns. we need to treat people; to stop the violence ,even today.

His murderer should not be given any publicity. It just adds to his unjust fame.

I was never aware that he was a fan. Why would a fan kill a man that he admired? I guess I don't know much of the history! Either way, this is very sad and the world lost a great man that day.

Amzette Denise Auld, he was a fan who has delusions and wanted notoriety. He had been hanging out at Lennon’s apartment and had even gotten an autograph earlier. He was sick in the head!

Read Catcher in the Rye in high school. class assignment. Didn't understand it. I guess I was too young and naive. All I can remember is a disturbing feeling while reading it.

Player #19370, I saw a TV documentary years ago on Lennon's murder and in it they said his killer was a religious fanatic and when he heard that Lennon once said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus he started having feelings of killing him.

I remember when the Beatles had first landed in America, I was five listening to my transistor radio when they're arrival was announced. I still think they were one of the best rock and roll bands ever. being a Texan myself, if I saw him, I'd shake his hand and thank him and the wonderful band mates for Rocking out World!

Many of us choose not to use his name. He murdered John Lennon to be famous. Let his name be lost to history. We call him "The Murderer." The person who burnt down the Great Library of Alexandra did so to be famous; therefore, in all accounts of his trial and execution he is called simply "The Arsonist " and he is not famous. Sadly, doing this to Chapman is not possible, but we can try.

prikette41214, the statistics tell the story. America has the highest recidivism rates in the world. Murder and gun related crimes are higher in America than in countries that have banned guns. Just because you are law abiding doesn't protect you ...Lennon was law abiding. So were the assassinated presidents, and the children killed in mass shootings. Guns make killing easier.

I was across the street from the Dakota the night Lennon was murdered. I was going home from the doctor’s office. I was waiting for the bus to go home. It was three hours before the murder and I was contemplating going across the street to hang out there because I heard that Leonard Bernstein lived in the Dakota. I wasn’t thinking of John Lynn at all when I looked across the street. I really didn’t know that John Lynn lived in the Dakota. I thought of Bernstein and I believe you know the other celebrities that was there that I might be interested in, but I wasn’t thinking about John Lennon and I’m a Beatles fan. However, I’m glad that I decided to take the bus home and not hang out, because possibly, knowing me, I would’ve gotten involved because that’s the kind of person I am and it would’ve been horrible. Who knows if I would’ve gotten hurt. But I remember that night. It was cold very cold. When I arrived home, I went to sleep and I was living with someone of the time and around 10 o’clock. My boyfriend woke me up and said to me someone killed John Lennon he’s dead. What a miserable night and a really tormenting morning.
