If we are made up of atoms, then a scientist studying atoms is actually a group of atoms studying themselves!

My dad was one of the smartest men I've ever met (we lost him a few months ago & I miss him SO much). He was a theoretical physicist, who worked for the gov't & taught an advanced course in Quantum Mechanics for a top US university on the side. What this basically means is that a spinning ball or compressed spring has greater mass than one that is stationary or relaxed.

Gravity is just a Government plot to keep us all down.

Gravity tells Mass how to move and Mass tells Gravity what to do with itself

Montana Lady, u must have gained some fabulous knowledge from him. He sounds like a good man. Not enough men like him in the world, today. Bless u for having such a great parent as we aren't all as lucky.

Einstein's field equations are actually a relationship between energy/matter density and the curving of spacetime

Some very interesting Comments to this question, some hard to understand, but all very interesting!! Pity about the player who saw fit to drag the game down with a four letter word in his name!!

The jam, no. They are not compatible. That is why all of physics is trying to incorporate gravity into quantum mechanics.

Montana Lady cont...both items have absorbed the energy of what took them out of their "relaxed" state, they can expel this excess energy when the force compressing or spinning them is no longer acting on them. Everything moves to its minimal energy state eventually. I'm not a physicist but isn't that what we call entropy?

Montana Lady, that actually _doesn't_ make sense. No disrespect to your father and your loss. I'm orphaned, it's a profound experience, and I hope you find peace. Regarding the compressed spring eg., I'd b assume it would have less mass, like the spinning ball, as they would expel air or attached dust. What makes more sense to me is they would have greater potential energy. As energy cannot be created or destroyed, and... botmmmitems
