Which country demonetized the use of its currency in 2015?

Beautiful country ... awful governance.

When I visited Zimbabwe in 2013, people were selling currency of incredible amounts (e.g. $1,000,000) for a dollar. The money’s only value was as a souvenir of Zimbabwe.

I remember perhaps apocryphal stories of Weimar Germany, where people used wheelbarrows to carry virtually worthless money. We all know how that worked out, with the rise of Nazism. I'm glad that Zimbabwe has been able to get through the crisis without going there.

India did the same, but in 2016. Right around the U.S elections that year.
