My great grandparents worked for the Seward family in Cato NY. I toured their home and the curator remembered my grandmother playing in the garden!

I can see Russia from my backyard.
In 2003 I entered a raffle to win a business AND a home in Wasilla (yes, that Wasilla). The buy-in for the raffle was $200. The owner of the business had met and married a woman from Hawaii and wanted to move there. He needed to get 2000 responses to break even. If he didn't make that number, he'd refund everyone. He fell short by approximately 250 people and I got my money back in full. BTW, the raffle was only advertised in an ad in the back of a Popular Mechanics magazine. I happened upon it on New year's day after waking up hung over at a friend's house and grabbed a PM as I headed to the bathroom, as reading material.
