blondifaeri, I agree with you 100%. Just a few days ago someone asked me how I could possibly know who someone or other was because that was "before your time". I said to them I also know who Abraham Lincoln is but that doesn't mean I'm 250 years old

Player GayleP, i was born in 1969, and ive known about the spruce goose since i was 12, ive been inside of it on a tour for it. age has nothing to do with the amount of knowledge a person has or doesnt have.
Taranchalanche
Player GayleP, Leonardo DeCaprio starred in a movie called, The Aviator which mentions his ill-fated Spruce Goose. That had to be less than 5 years ago. You have only complaints and criticisms, perhaps a different game would suit you better. Complaining is bad manners.

Era Vulgaris, I toured it in Long Beach in the early 80's. Visited the Queen Mary first. Great fun!

It was originally in Long Beach CA but the Walt Disney Co decided to close the exhibit & sell the Spruce Goose. In 1992 it was disassembled & shipped to Oregon, the parts were offloaded to trucks in Dayton, OR & moved to Evergreen in February 1993. it was quite a sight seeing that massive fuselage moving slowly down the road followed by its wings & tail on separate trucks. Having seen it in both locations the Long Beach exhibit was far more dramatic. Guests were taken to a space surrounded by black curtains, a short film about the plane was shown on a retractable screen. After the film guests were gathered at the front of the room and instructed to look up as the curtains were opened. No matter how high anyone looked it wasn't high enough. Everyone in the group I was with, including me, gasped when we saw how big that plan was. At Evergreen it's in a very large, purpose built hanger with many other planes which lacks the drama. It's still well worth the price of admission if you've never seen it.

the wingspan of the goose is as long as the Wright bros first flight
Bird Brain 007
Yes it has the longest wingspan. It could be said though that a contender for the position of largest might be the Lun class Ekranoplan built in the 80's in USSR.

Hughes hated the name of spruce goose

Player lilith666, WINGSPAN. The distance from one wingtip to the other. And we mean AIRPLANE wings, not oxfords.

Howard Hughes was a Maniac, tere was no stopping him from doing something. Watch "The Aviator" Great Flick!😎
Bunny22
I was lucky enough to tour that amazing airplane. A 747 fits under its wing.

I think everyone is wrong, Spruce Moose is the plane Mr Burns made that Smithers couldn't fit into. Every passenger had to have tissue boxes on their feet, so the legend states. Also this is a game so chill out guys
Ms Cindy Kay
I saw the Spruce goose while I was visiting in long Beach ⛱ California. I also saw the queen 👸 Mary afterwards. It was in February of 1985. But I am from Ohio.
Linda
Player. Ty, Heddy Lamar helped with the design of the wings, she studied birds and applied that knowledge to the blue goose wings

Taranchalanche, I totally agree! Way too much negativity in our world today. We don’t need it in our games and pastimes. Learning and talking with others about things is supposed to be pleasant and enjoyable. Let’s keep it that way please.❤️

My wife and I seen Spruce Goose in Laguna Beach many years ago

Shellback, There's no way to know how good it handled since it only flew one time. For a few seconds.
Linda444
Go see it if you can. Full size jets seem small next to it. When we drove up I was impressed wthe size of the glass front hanger/museum, then I realized the plane took up the whole museum! Lots more in there, under the wings, etc. Plan for a full day of fun.
Shellback
The Spruce Goose was also known for it's superb handling.
ChewyWeasel1865
Awesome ! I saw it in Long Beach Ca. in 1986 !
