I know that she was very insecure, but she was much smarter and a better actress than people gave her credit for. One of my favourite photos of her is on a set between takes, reading James Joyce's Ulysses, not the easiest book to read. I'm a fairly fast reader and it took me five weeks to get through it. I couldn't read more than three or four pages at a time before I had to take a break to digest it.
