It is a beautiful place, however I spent 4days in hospital there lovely hospital clean and new, only one doctor spoke English and they don't feed you. I got charged £2000.00 for the stay. So never knock the NHS.

I got to go there when I was 15....before it became a tourist destination...wonderful place and the locals were still in awe of foreigners....gorgeous beaches. no one on them. We stayed in the little town because those tourist hotels weren't built yet...sure it's not like that anymore

eh..... I would much rather travel inland and check out the ancient pyramid's and cenotes.
