I feel this is a bad question. They say the answer is vinegar. Which is true but water is a main ingredient a lot of times when pickling. And I have seen recipes where sugar has been called for. Also I have never used pineapple juice for any pickling. But I could see if you’re trying to attain a certain flavor putting that in.
