There's a piece for prepared piano by composer Henry Cowell . It's called The Banshee.
Cowell placed small objects between the strings of the piano and when he pressed the piano keys, instead of the usual piano sounds, he got eerie, strange, otherworldly tones that were supposed to be the sounds of the Irish Banshee ghost.
