In the 1819 short story "Rip Van Winkle", which mountain range does Rip Van Winkle sleep on for 20 years?

I have taught this strange story many times. The story is fantastic. Rip is an idle character. He went to a mountain and slept on the mountain for twenty years. When he returns his native village, he doesn't recognize any person. All the villagers have become grown up. some are very old. Nice and strange story.

Good philosophy. Life goes on.. make of the best of what you have….
