Big Blue Narwhal, Jesus is not fake. He was a real historical figure. Most historians agree on that. You can question his divinity but not his existence.

Hey 574128, how can celebrating love be useless? Granted it is pushed by the greeting card companies, florists, and chocolate makers, but it is all about love.
MALICE
Heartland Old Guy, if you love someone, you shouldnt need a fake holiday to celebrate it... just sayin'

Player #1996696, I have some bad news for you if you think that someone being canonised means anything about how good of a person they really were.

No mention of how this Saint became associated with lovers.

O' Brento, I wish I had seen Frank Cowells comment. I’ve never heard your explanation either. I had always thought all soldiers at that time (and even not soldiers) had sex with men. Especially if they were at war and no women were around. I also wonder why same sex became so taboo. Was it all about religion?

O' Brento
Frank Cowell... wrong, wrong, wrong. You're asking who is Valentine. Your explanation is... dry. So, he was a soldier and gay (activist at that time). He was beheaded for disobeying emperor orders, soldiers not "get married" among themselves.

Big Blue Narwhal, if u ever experience the true love of Jesus, you will know He's not fake. Most holidays were not created by Christians but by Romance catholics, who do not worship Christ, but Mary and the Pope and therefore can not be considered christians, who are followers of Christ. The Pope ,nor Mary can forgive a man's sins, only Jesus.
RushMama2112
Big Blue Narwhal, while I agree with you, it's still possible to be respectful.
