In what year did Elmo Lincoln first portray Tarzan?

I knew that Elmo Lincoln played Tarzan. I am young to have see him but knew because I am a geeky Tarzan fan and have been all of my life. I even went on a canopy tour in Puerto Vallarta once and did the Tarzan yell while swinging from tree to tree. Bucket List.
