There are lots of bottle houses in the desert southwest. It's a creative and smart solution to the lack of building materials in the desert.

It has to be the US. Any country that makes the largest ball of string into a tourist attraction has to have a beer can house.

I recently saw some episodes of "Outrageous Acts of Science" on the Science channel. One showed an island built by one guy out of empty 2-liter plastic bottles. He built a simple but effective set-up under the island that keeps it anchored and balanced on the water. He then built a three-bedroom house and a little yard on top. Now he lives rent free on a slow-flowing river.

RushMama2112, When I lived in Colorado, I read that actor, Dennis Weaver, built a house out of used tires! Never saw it but, I thought it to be very creative,too.
