If a fish is described as 'benthic', where does it live?
Correct answer: At the bottom of the ocean

YSL
The correct answer is "at the bottom". There are plenty of pelagic (kind of the opposite of benthic) fish that live in the deep ocean. There are plenty of benthic fish that live in shallow water. I am a benthic ecologist.

YSL, can you please explain how these fish handle the immense pressure of water at the bottom of the sea? Do they have special biology for this?

fantastico
YSL, please report the error. They won't correct it until enough people complain.
