Nobby , The House of Lords is currently made up of neither hereditary peers nor major landowners but life peers - I'm not entirely sure if this is a good or bad thing swapping the ancient entitled for modern day political cronies.

Definition of the Great British Parliament : a place where you can make rules up that suit the rich, also if you can party on down while the rest of the country obeys the ridiculous rules we make you can be Prime Minister for at least a week!

Democracy?. With an un-elected upper house of Lord's consisting of hereditary peers and landowners, with a lower house of commons elected on a first past the post basis. It's about time our democracy moved into the 21st century.
