Mama loved to grow flowers. Hydrangeas were in her top favorites. I grew up with beautiful and varied flowers all around our home. She considered roses too difficult to grow in our climate. We also had Liles, pansies, petunias, and many kinds of perinnials.🌝

In the UK some gardeners deliberately mix in soil fertiliser in such a way to produce a variegated blue/pink effect on same bush. Very striking but how they actually achieve this I don't know!

Bulldogsmomma, I’ve had terrific luck with mine which is facing West & they don’t like getting too dry. I have another on a more shaded area & it’s doing okay but nothing like the other one. Takes them awhile to get established. Acid lovers too..I fertilize.

SHOOT! Hit the wrong button. My poor hydrangea got seriously trampled when the deck was rebuilt, but it's a survivor. I'm told some old nails or other scrap iron around the trunk will eventually turn the blooms blue.
