Depending on when this question was made, the answer would be Pluto. I wonder if you could change the question to say as of 20__, what is the smallest planet?

Jezandrew2, and they did it purely for the purpose of excluding Pluto, most likely so they could look smarter than they are. For all intents and purposes, Pluto is a planet. It is rather small compared to Mercury(about half the diameter), but is fully five times the diameter of the (previously) largest dwarf planet, Ceres. I knew the answer for this question, but must make the case for Pluto. I don't accept decisions by boards that have highly questionable motives that have nothing to do with science or precision.

Pluto shouldn't even be on the list if they didn't think of it as a planet.

GeneQueen100, you're right.. in 2006 the in ternatinal astronomical union formally defined the " planet " that definition excluded pluto and reclassified it into a dwarf planet..
